WHERE WE WORK

The Workplace

PEAR works with private, public and third sector organisations. We have experience with organisations in the air, rail, healthcare, energy, education and university sectors. We also have experience in employability, social care and the rehabilitation of offenders. PEAR is a partner of a number of charities and social enterprises.

We provide coaching to individuals within organisations and we design and deliver conferences to improve performance and practice in all of these sectors.

“The work delivered for National Grid is enjoyable and useful and some of the best facilitation that I have experienced”.

Education

Our programmes for educators build psychologically informed approaches in the classroom. In addition, we offer staff techniques to understand and manage their resilience in relation to work-based stress.

“Two-thirds of head teachers named pupils’ mental health as the top concern.” (www.bbc.co.uk 20/7/15, quoted in The Key).

“Every teacher in every school should be aware of attachment theory, and tailor their practice accordingly.” (Dr Maggie Atkinson, former Children’s Commissioner for England, Times Educational Supplement, 7/11/15).

"PEAR has given students an opportunity to understand their own
behaviour and the implications it has on them and others. It has allowed them to develop new strategies to control their emotions and improve social skills that are key to everyday life. The interactive and versatile nature of the programme has allowed students to really prosper in the engaging and exciting provision."

Employability

Participants are invited to develop practical strategies towards getting a job. The psychological education provides the tools to build resilience for staying in work.

“I feel what PEAR is achieving is both amazing and inspiring. You are working with people who feel lost within a system that doesn’t appreciate them, or value their life skills.

Your work gives them back their self-identity in a non-patronising way, whilst also giving them a voice that is listened to.

Whenever I have been invited to your groups, I have left feeling totally motivated whilst also being reminded of the reason I so passionately believe everybody has the right to a second chance and to find paid employment.“

Rehabilitation of offenders

PEAR works towards the rehabilitation of offenders, helping create safer communities and promoting social inclusion.

We deliver in custodial settings, community rehabilitation companies and in strategic partnership with The National Association for Care and Resettlement of Offenders (NACRO).

“NACRO (The National Association for Care and Resettlement of Offenders) and PEAR have worked in partnership to develop and deliver a ground-breaking training programme that supports ex-offenders from Beds & Herts into work. The Aeneid Project has been such an enormous success that the pilot has been expanded to deliver in other areas. It has been a pleasure working with PEAR to make such a positive difference in individuals' lives. “
